Partner:
34 partner organisations in ten countries of the Balkan region
Sponsoring:
Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
Duration:
2003 - 2011
The project Balkan Office of SME is based in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. It coaches and supports organisations and enterprises of the small and medium-sized business sector in almost every country of the Balkan region.
MBB has been established as a focal point for information and promotion of the skilled crafts sector and was essential in the development of self-governing organisations of SME in the Balkan region.
The Balkan office continues to coordinate an intensive exchange of experiences and information among the partner organisations and HwK Koblenz as well as the current new project ‘Western Balkans’. It also provides a comprehensive offer of qualification and information for the partner organisations such as conferences, workshops, seminars, training courses, common exhibitions and trade fair participations.
Thanks to the project, the legal and economic framework conditions for SME and skilled crafts in the partner countries have been enhanced. (e. g. in Bulgaria and Macedonia laws for the skilled crafts were passed following the German model).
This project was financially supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ through SEQUA gGmbH).
