Rising Economic Giant with an Interest in German Vocational Training

Due to the immense interest of India in reforming its vocational training system, in 2008 Handwerkskammer Koblenz – initially through its partnership project in Sri Lanka - made contact with business organisations and Government offices in India. There followed several visits of high ranking delegations from chambers, associations and ministries in Koblenz. The exchange of ideas was also repeated on several occasions in India.

In 2011 Handwerkskammer Koblenz started a first cooperation with a private vocational training institute, which will train craftsmen near Delhi following German standards under consultation with HwK. Further cooperation projects are still under discussion.
