Handwerkskammer Koblenz is the self-governing organisation and partner of 19,000 companies in the northern part of the German State of Rheinland-Pfalz. The chamber represents the interests of the skilled crafts when it comes to economic conditions, regional development, education policy, future technologies, the environment or the European market. Being a service center, its main focus is on the support of its individual member companies.

Vocational Training and Further Training
According to German laws, chambers are the respective 'competent bodies' when it comes to organising and monitoring vocational training. Handwerkskammer Koblenz also sees itself as a competency centre for vocational training. Experienced trainers teach in Koblenz in our modern Metal and Technology Centre with the attached welding school and laser centre, in the Centre for Building and Construction and in the Centre for Design, Production and Communication, as well as in the Crafts Academy. Also in the region, in another six training centres in Ahrweiler, Bad Kreuznach, Herrstein, Rheinbrohl, Simmern and Wissen, the Koblenz chamber is supporting its member companies.

Experts of Handwerkskammer Koblenz actively support and advise on the way to founding and managing a company. Apart from that, the chamber provides advice to its members when it comes to legal problems, quality management, environmental protection, labour safety, training, exports, new technologies, computers in business, design or even preservation of monuments.

This limited company, which is fully owned by the chamber, allows member companies the cost-efficient use of hightech, for example in areas like the testing of materials, calculation of machine parts, or the development and production of prototypes. The broad spectrum of services available allows swift reactions to changes in the market thereby giving businesses a competitive edge. topPublic Relations for the Skilled Crafts
Handwerkskammer Koblenz informs the public about the achievements of the Skilled Crafts regarding training, production and services, thereby strengthening business in the northern part of our state. Through a close cooperation with the press, radio and TV, by publishing the magazines Handwerk special and HwK-TV as well as in numerous PR events, we bring together the Skilled Crafts and their customers.
topInternational Contacts / Ost-West GmbH
We support member companies with international cooperation, give advice regarding export and help them gain access to promotional measures of the European Union.
The chamber conducts several international partnership and qualification projects through its Ost-West-GmbH, a limited company fully-owned by the chamber.
Most of these partnerships projects are financially supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ, http://www.bmz.de/en/index.html) and administered by the foundation "SEQUA gGmbH - Partner of German Business” (http://www.sequa.de/en/).
Through these projects, the chamber passes on its experience, promotes international education and contributes to the establishment of Crafts and SME organisations worldwide.
